About MP3Transcript

Last updated: July 19, 2026

MP3Transcript is a focused transcription workspace for podcasters, video creators, interviewers, and independent publishers. It starts with audio or video, creates a timed transcript that can be reviewed against the source, and then supports structured summaries and fixed creator content templates.

Why We Built It

Transcription is rarely the final job. Creators still need to check names, speakers, quotes, and context before turning a recording into captions, show notes, a blog draft, a video description, or social posts.

MP3Transcript keeps that work in one Project:

  • A private, storage-optimized MP3 derived from the Source remains available for authorized audio playback while its retention window is active; temporary original audio or video is deleted after conversion.
  • The transcript keeps timestamps, speaker information, and saved revisions.
  • Summaries and repurposed content reference a specific transcript revision instead of silently replacing the source text.
  • Exports are created from the current transcript revision chosen by the Project owner.

What the Product Supports

The launch workflow supports direct uploads of MP3, M4A, WAV, and MP4 files up to the current 100 MB limit. It also supports browser recording when the browser can securely record MP4/AAC, plus direct public HTTPS media links for MP3, MP4, M4A, and WAV.

Public Link does not mean arbitrary webpage or platform downloading. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, login-only, private, paid, DRM-protected, and live content are outside the launch boundary.

Our Product Principles

Source before generated content

The transcript is the factual foundation. AI-generated summaries and content drafts should be checked against it before publication.

Clear limits instead of unlimited claims

File size, shared Guest/Free transcription frequency and duration, retention, paid transcription minutes, and AI generation units are shown as product limits. We do not describe finite processing capacity as unlimited.

Private by default

Projects and their outputs are access-controlled and are not published as public result pages by default. Workspace and account pages are excluded from search indexing.

Rights before processing

Users must confirm that they own the media or have permission to process it. MP3Transcript is not designed to bypass platform controls, paywalls, logins, or digital rights management.

Retention and Control

Guest Projects are scheduled for automatic deletion after 24 hours. Free, Creator, and Pro retention windows differ and are stated on the Pricing page. Project deletion is designed to remove the source media and derived transcript and content artifacts together.
